Getting started & compatibility

Loqua is a voice-first desktop productivity app for Mac and Windows. Speak naturally to dictate polished text in any app, ask questions about what is on your screen, edit selected text by voice, create calendar events and reminders, open webpages, and complete supported desktop actions without breaking your flow.

Yes. Loqua supports both macOS and Windows.

Both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs are supported.

Loqua supports 64-bit Windows devices.

Not yet. iOS and Android support is coming soon.

Up to 6 minutes. When you reach the limit, Loqua saves the current dictation to History.

Loqua works with most apps and text fields. Some apps restrict direct text insertion; when that happens, your transcription remains available in Loqua History.

Permissions & setup

Microphone permission lets Loqua hear and process your voice input.

Accessibility permission lets Loqua insert text and interact with supported desktop workflows.

Microphone and Accessibility permissions are required for basic dictation. Agent features can be turned off without affecting core dictation.

Open System Settings, go to Keyboard shortcuts, and remove or reassign any system action using the same key combination.

Open Loqua Settings and choose a different activation shortcut.

Voice Actions & Agent

  • Dictate: turn natural speech into polished text in any app.
  • Translate: speak in one language and produce text in another.
  • Speak to Edit: select text and rewrite, rephrase, or adjust its tone by voice.
  • Ask Anything: ask by voice and receive an AI answer in a popup.
  • Capture to Ask: capture part of your screen and ask about it.

Mac currently has the broadest support, including supported workflows in apps such as iMessage, FaceTime, and Notes. More system controls, including display brightness and keyboard lighting, are planned.

Windows support is growing. Voice Actions currently include web browsing, with more capabilities being added over time.

Loqua always asks before sending. It will not send a message on its own; the final decision stays with you.

Actions that communicate with another person require confirmation, including sending a message or placing a call through supported apps such as iMessage and FaceTime.

Not directly through Loqua. If the target app supports undo, you will need to use that app’s controls manually.

Cancel the action before confirming it. If an action has already been completed, use the target app to delete, cancel, or reverse it manually where possible.

Yes. Open the Agents tab and turn off the relevant permissions. Dictation will continue to work normally.
