Everything you need to know about getting started and getting the most out of Loqua
Loqua is a Mac voice typing app that turns speech into context-aware, polished writing — across every
app you already use. It captures what you say, cleans it up, understands where it's going, and delivers
text that's ready to send.
Yes. Download the macOS app, sign in, and follow the permission prompts on first launch. Takes about two
minutes.
Loqua supports macOS 13 (Ventura) and later on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
In most cases, yes. Loqua is designed for system-wide text entry — editors, email, notes, messaging,
browsers, and most developer tools. A small number of apps may limit direct cursor insertion depending
on how they handle text input.
Accessibility permission lets Loqua insert text directly at your cursor and respond to your shortcut
from anywhere on your Mac. Without it, the system-wide experience isn't possible.
To hear you. No microphone access, no dictation.
Core transcription requires an internet connection — the speech and language models run in the cloud for
speed and accuracy.
Three things that help most: reduce background noise, speak at a natural pace (not overly slow), and add
your technical terms, project names, and frequent contacts to your personal dictionary. Accuracy tends
to improve significantly within a few days of regular use.
First confirm Accessibility permission is enabled in System Settings > Privacy & Security >
Accessibility. Then try again in the target app. If it persists in a specific app, contact support with
the app name — some apps require additional compatibility work.
Open Loqua settings and assign a different activation shortcut. Any key combo that's free in your
current setup will work.
Email official@theloqua.ai for setup questions, bug reports, or feature requests. We typically respond
within 24 hours.
